1990 peugeot 205 gti 1.9
This Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 was first registered on 31st January 1990 and is presented in black with red Quartet half-leather seats and a contrasting red carpet. Under the bonnet resides a naturally aspirated 1.9-litre inline-four engine producing around 128bhp through a five-speed manual transmission. With some nice features such as 15-inch ‘Speedline’ alloy wheels, a sliding sunroof, central locking, electric windows and the original Clarion radio cassette head unit, this hot hatch presents exceptionally well.
This 205 GTI has lived a pampered life in the hands of enthusiasts who have kept it in prime condition. Currently displaying just 66,764 miles, the 205 has spent the past four years in a private collection, stored at a dehumidified classic car storage facility. The car was cherished by its first registered keeper for over 22 years. They would spend many a weekend cleaning, polishing and detailing, and while in their possession, the car was always driven sensibly and garage-stored when not in use.
Everywhere you look on this 205 GTI, things are clean, fresh and well-kept. Years of indoor storage have also paid dividends in preserving the exterior as neither the plastic trim nor the lights show signs of fading to the degree that you would usually expect at this age. The door shuts, sills and rear arches - all known areas of concern on 205s - look spotless, with no evidence of corrosion. The body panels appear flush and straight, whilst the classic ‘Speedline’ alloys are in very good order. The cabin in excellent, clean condition. The plastic dashboard has resisted cracking and discolouration, and the controls and other switchgear present in fine order. The front seats benefit from recent new bolsters and the carpet and headlining are free of any damage or tears. The engine bay, boot and underbody all appear in very good condition. The 1.9-litre engine is sprightly, pulling well through all five gears and braking effectively. The gear changes are smooth without any crunches. The engine and running gear have clearly been well maintained throughout the car's life.
Supplied with the car are two sets of keys and a comprehensive history file dating back to the point of first registration including the original owners handbooks and stamped service book.
