1999 classic rover mini cooper sportspack

This Mini Cooper Sportspack was originally supplied by Priests of Chesham on 4th August 1999 and is presented in desirable Tahiti Blue with a white roof and body decals, over a cream leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multi-point injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, 13” Sportspack alloy wheels, remote central locking, electric windows, alloy door furniture, a burr walnut dash and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials.

The Mini boasts 35,316 miles from new and has been under the proprietorship of the latest enthusiast owner for over twenty-two years. The car was used relatively sparingly and exhibited at shows up until 2008, when it was taken off the road and put in storage. It wasn’t until this year, some sixteen years later, that the Mini returned to the road, with £8,000 spent on recommissioning and a respray.

The Mini is in wonderful condition and is ready to be enjoyed. The bodywork is in fantastic order and the paintwork is immaculate with even finish throughout. The original factory ‘body’ number is present on the slam panel as well as the factory spot welds on the inner wings. The correct vented sills are present both sides. The chromework and rubbers have been renewed and the alloy wheels are in excellent condition and shod in new tyres. The cabin is in very good order, as conducive with the low mileage, and there are no tears to the seats, headlining or carpet. Years of indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving the burr walnut dashboard as it has resisted the fading, cracking and delamination that they so typically succumb to. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is strong and pulls impeccably and the gear synchros are all in good order with no crunches upon changes.

The Mini is sold newly serviced and MOT’d and also benefits from a new Maniflow exhaust, fan belt, fuel sender unit, steering rack gaiters, front Hi-Los and knuckle joints, rear wheel cylinders and tyres all round. Supplied with the Mini are two sets of keys and a history file dating back to the point of first registration including the original handover document and stamped service book.
