1999 classic rover mini sportspack

This Mini Sportspack was originally supplied by Howells of Cardiff on 29th July 1999 and is presented in iconic British Racing Green over a cream leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Specification highlights include 13” Sportspack alloy wheels, a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, a leather gear knob and steering wheel, a burr walnut dash and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials.

This example boasts 31,058 miles and one owner from new and has always been driven sensibly and garage stored when not in use. The paintwork presents well with a deep lustre and the odd blemish. The glass, chrome and trim are all in excellent condition, whilst the rubbers have retained their rich black colour. All four alloy wheels appear in good condition. The original factory ‘body’ number is present on the slam panel as well as the spot welds on the inner wings. The chassis number is correctly stamped into the scuttle panel and it is also etched into the front and rear screens. The correct gaps are present in between scuttle panel and the tops of wings. The cabin is in excellent, clean condition, as reflective of the low mileage. There are no tears to the seats or headlining and the original ‘Mini’ branded radio cassette, colour-keyed carpet and rubber mats are all present. Years of indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving the burr walnut dashboard as it has resisted the fading, cracking and delamination that they so typically succumb to. The boot and engine bay present very well and the undercarriage has been waxoyl protected throughout the years. The rear subframe appears in good order, whilst the sills have previously been repaired. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is sprightly, pulling well through all four gears and braking effectively.

The Mini is sold MOT’d until 1st October 2025 and benefits from a recent new battery and steering rack gaiters. Supplied with the Mini are two sets of keys and a history file dating back to the point of first registration including the original bill of sale and a fully-stamped service book.

Phil is a really genuine, honest, respectful and polite man to deal with. He was very flexible and made our transaction very smooth, even completing all the paperwork and kept me fully informed throughout. I would not hesitate to use the company again. Thank you Phil.

Gemma Page

From start to finish Phil was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and kind. I absolutely adore my new (but old!) Mini Cooper. She's a beauty! Would definitely recommend and if I'm in the market for a classic again, Phil Mires Classic Cars would be my first port of call.
