2000 classic rover mini cooper sport
The Mini Cooper Sport was the final edition of the classic Mini. Each car was built to a very high specification which included Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, Sportspack wheel arches, 13” alloy wheels, full leather trim in black and grey, chrome bezel gauges and an engine-turned dash with magnolia faced dials. There was a choice of four exterior colours; British Racing Green, Tahiti Blue, Solar Red and Anthracite, each with a Platinum Silver roof and matching bonnet stripes.
This Rover Mini Cooper Sport was originally supplied by Trident Rover, Weybridge in April 2000 and is presented in Anthracite with a Platinum Silver roof and body decals, over a black and silver leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 13” Sportspack alloy wheels, a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, a leather-bound steering wheel, alloy interior trim, chrome bezel gauges and an engine-turned dash with magnolia-faced dials.
The Mini boasts 21,358 miles and two owners from new and is a splendid, unmolested example. It is clear that the car has been well maintained. The paintwork presents well overall with a deep lustre and even finish, whilst the glass, chromework and trim are in excellent condition. There are some areas for improvement. The vehicle chassis number is correctly etched into the front and rear screens and the original ‘Trident’ number plates are both present. The cabin is in fine order, as conducive with the low mileage. There are no tears to the seats, carpet or headlining, and the original supplying dealer sticker remains in situ on the rear screen. The engine bay and undercarriage are in good condition and the correct vented sills are present both sides. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is strong and the gear synchros are in good order with no crunches upon changes.
