2000 classic rover mini cooper sportspack
This Mini Cooper Sportspack was first registered by Bristol Minis on 8th August 2000 and is presented in rare Nightfire Red with a white roof and body decals, over a cream leather-trimmed interior. Features include Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, 13-inch alloy wheels, chrome interior trim, a burr walnut dash and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multi-point injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission.
With just 20,000 miles on the clock, this Mini has been cherished by the same enthusiast owner from new. They loved this car, ensuring that it was driven carefully, had regular oil changes and garage-stored when not in use. Parting with the Mini was a reluctant decision, prompted only by lack of use and an impending relocation.
Decades of loving care and indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving this example as it appears in excellent condition. The Nightfire Red paintwork retains a deep lustre with an even finish, and all body panels appear original. The glass and chromework are in excellent order, while the rubbers have retained their rich black colour. All four 13-inch alloy wheels appear ‘as new’, shod with new tyres, and the original supplying dealer number plates remain in situ. The body panels appear flush and straight, including correct gaps in between the scuttle panel and tops of wings. The original factory spot welds are present on the inner wings and the factory ‘body’ number is present on the slam panel. The vehicle chassis number is correctly stamped into the scuttle panel, and it is also etched into the front and rear screens.
Inside, the cabin is beautifully preserved and clean, reflecting the low mileage. The front seats exhibit only light signs of use, while the rear seats appear virtually untouched. The carpets and headlining are free of tears, and the burr walnut dash has resisted the fading that they so typically succumbed to. The original Mini-branded radio/cassette head unit is present and in fine working order.
Elsewhere, the boot and undercarriage are in commendable condition and the 1275cc multi-point injection engine is sprightly, pulling well through all four gears without any crunches upon changes.
A cherished and wonderfully preserved example.
