1994 classic rover mini cooper 1.3i spi

This Mini Cooper was originally supplied by Tristar Rover, Gt Yarmouth on 25th November 1994 and boasts one owner and 36,422 miles from new. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc A-series injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Specification highlights include twin spot lamps, 12” Minilite alloy wheels, a leather-bound ‘Cooper’ steering wheel and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials. In December 1994, the Mini was taken to John Cooper Garages in Worthing for aesthetic enhancements including a burr walnut dashboard with inset clock, voltmeter and oil pressure gauges. The owner lived in Northern Ireland briefly and the registration subsequently changed to ‘XDZ 6294’ circa 1998.

This Mini has been kept to original specification and, by repute, has always been driven sensibly and garage-stored when not in use. The annual mileage increments are minimal, with under 8,000 miles covered in the past ten years. The paint/bodywork is in good condition with the odd blemish. The glass, chromework and trim all appear in excellent order and the correct body-coloured vented sills are present both sides. The Mini’s undercarriage is in good condition having been waxoyled throughout the years, and benefits from a new rear subframe last year. The Minilite alloy wheels appear in very good order. The cabin is in impressive, clean condition, as reflective of the low mileage. There are no tears to the carpet or headlining and the original Rover-branded radio cassette is present and in working order. The rear seats appear barely used. Years of indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving the burr walnut dashboard as it has resisted the fading and delamination that they so typically succumb to. The 1275cc injection engine is sprightly, pulling well through all four gears and braking effectively. Gear changes are smooth and precise without any crunches.

The Mini is sold MOT’d until 22nd March 2025 and benefits from a recent new clutch and rear subframe. As you’d expect for a cherished single-owner car, the accompanying history file is exceptional and encompasses a fully-stamped service book as well as comprehensive maintenance records and the original bill of sale.

From start to finish Phil was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and kind. I absolutely adore my new (but old!) Mini Cooper. She's a beauty! Would definitely recommend and if I'm in the market for a classic again, Phil Mires Classic Cars would be my first port of call.
