2000 classic rover mini john cooper le 40 supercharged

The Mini John Cooper LE 40 was unveiled in 1999, celebrating 40 remarkable years of the Mini and honouring the Cooper’s triumph in the F1 World Championship. With only 300 units produced, this limited edition was exclusively offered in a striking Brooklands Green with a contrasting Old English White roof, and featured a stunning Grenadine Red leather interior. Every car was built to a very high standard, boasting Rallye-style spot lamps, white bonnet stripes and mirrors, and 13" Sportspack alloy wheels and flared wheel arches. The luxurious interior features a leather-bound steering wheel, handbrake lever and gear knob, a radio/CD stereo and an engine-turned effect dash with magnolia-faced dials.

This particular LE 40 was originally supplied by Park Lane, London on 9th March 2000 and boasts 26,527 miles from new. Beneath its classic exterior lies something rather special - a true “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. In October 2008, at 21,242 miles, the car was sent to specialist Vmaxscart for a supercharger conversion, resulting in an output of 143bhp at 6150rpm on a rolling road setup. The car subsequently became the subject of a magazine article and has remained in the care of the same Mini-enthusiast family for the past 14 years, spending much of that time unused in storage.

Years of indoor storage have paid dividends as the Mini appears in exceptional condition, retaining its correct vented sills and matching numbers. The chrome and trim are in excellent order and all four 13-inch alloy wheels are fitted with Yokohama tyres. Inside, the Grenadine Red leather interior is beautifully preserved and clean, complimented by the original Mini-branded radio/CD head unit.

Recently serviced, this rare and powerful Mini comes with two sets of keys and a comprehensive history file to warrant the mileage, including the original stamped service book and Vmaxscart invoice documenting the supercharger conversion.
