1997 classic rover mini cooper 1.3i mpi
This Rover Mini Cooper was first registered on 10th December 1997 and is presented in rare Hawaiian Blue with a white roof and bonnet stripes, over a 'Monaco' stone beige and black leatherette interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a bank of four Rallye-style spot lamps, 13-inch alloy wheels, chrome interior trim, a leather-bound steering wheel and a burr walnut dash with magnolia-faced dials.
This Mini has covered 56,119 miles from new and has been enthusiast-owned for the past six years. The accompanying history file shows that most of the mileage was accrued within its first seven years, with more recent driving limited largely to occasional weekend outings. As a result, it presents very well overall and is ready for immediate enjoyment. The Hawaiian Blue paintwork exhibits a deep shine and lustre, with the odd blemish visible on close inspection. Meanwhile, the glass, chrome and trim remain in excellent order and the rubbers are rich in colour. Vented sills are present both sides, and the chassis number is correctly stamped into the scuttle and etched into both the front and rear screens. The alloy wheels also appear in very good condition.
Inside, the cabin is clean, inviting and well-presented. The door cards and handles only show minimal signs of wear, and the two-tone steering wheel exhibits a light patina. A modern head unit has been installed. Elsewhere, the boot and engine bay are presentable, and the undercarriage has been waxoyl protected. The rear subframe appears sound, and the sills have previously been repaired.
On the road, this Mk7 Cooper is an engaging and enjoyable drive, blending the iconic go-kart handling for which the Mini is renowned with the improved reliability and usability of the later 1.3i injection engine. It pulls strongly, changes gear smoothly and brakes effectively.
The Mini is sold freshly serviced and is MOT’d until 28th October 2026. Notably, it has passed its last four MOTs first-time with no advisories. Supplied with the car is a history file dating back to the point of first registration, including the original stamped service book.
