1997 classic rover mini cooper sportspack
This Mini Cooper Sportspack was originally supplied by Clarks Motor Services of Bromsgrove on 8th March 1997 and is presented in Flame Red with a white roof and body decals, over a black leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, 13” alloy wheels, a stainless steel twin-exit exhaust, a burr walnut dash and door cappings, chrome interior trim and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials.
This particular example has a mileage of just 45,297 miles and has been owned by the same family for many years. After five years of regular use, the Mini transitioned into classic status and has only accrued an additional 6,000 miles since 2003, with recurring periods spent in storage. It comes freshly serviced and MOT'd and is supplied with a history file dating back to the point of first registration, including the original stamped service book.
The Mini is in impressive condition throughout and is ready for immediate enjoyment. The Flame Red paintwork presents really well and the chromework, glass and trim are in excellent order. Body-colour vented sills are present both sides and the vehicle chassis number is correctly etched into the front and rear screens. All four alloy wheels appear 'as new' and are shod with new tyres. Inside, the cabin is clean and inviting. The headlining and burr walnut dash and door cappings have just been renewed. The engine bay is tidy and the undercarriage has been well-maintained.
Driving this Mini is a blast. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is sprightly, pulling well through all four gears without any crunches upon changes. The twin-exit exhaust is subtle, yet gives off a nice raspy sound that enhances the experience.
