1999 classic rover mini cooper sportspack
This Mini Cooper Sportspack was first registered on 29th January 1999 and is presented in iconic British Racing Green with a white roof and body decals, over a black leather-trimmed interior. Features include Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, 13” Sportspack wheels, a Maniflow exhaust, chrome interior trim, burr walnut door cappings, a burr walnut dash and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multi-point injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission.
I know this Mini very well, as it was sold by me in 2023. It has spent the past two years mothballed in a garage and only driven 300 miles! The car is ready for immediate enjoyment and is sold newly serviced and MOT’d and is supplied with two sets of keys, owner’s handbooks and a history file.
The Mini has only covered 40,000 miles from new, with just 7,000 miles added over the past 14 years, and has clearly been very well maintained. The bodywork appears remarkably original; the correct vented sills are present both sides and the body panels align flush, maintaining the proper gaps between the scuttle panel and the tops of the wings. The original factory 'body' number is present on the bonnet slam panel, along with the spot welds on the inner wings. Both the glass and trim are in excellent condition, while all four alloy wheels are also in very good shape, shod with new Yokohama A539 tyres.
Inside, the cabin is in fine order an reflects the low mileage. Years of indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving the burr walnut dash as it has resisted the cracking and delamination that they so typically succumb to. There are no tears to the carpet, headlining or seats - in fact the rear seats appear barely used.
Elsewhere, the boot, engine bay and undercarriage are in commendable condition. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is strong and the gear synchros are all in good order with no crunches upon changes. The MOT history is very impressive as well, showing no prior corrosion problems concerning the sills, subframes or underbody.
