2000 classic rover mini cooper sport

This Mini Cooper Sport was originally supplied by Evans Halshaw Rover on 27th October 2000 and is presented in iconic British Racing Green with a Platinum Silver roof and body decals, over a black and silver leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include 13” Sportspack alloy wheels, a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, a leather-bound steering wheel, alloy interior trim, chrome bezel gauges and an engine-turned dash with magnolia-faced dials.

This example boasts 25,168 miles from new and has been owned by the same family for the past fifteen years. During their time of ownership, the car covered less than 3,000 miles and spent recurring periods unused in storage.

Years of loving care and indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving this Mini as it presents incredibly well. The paintwork has a deep lustre with even finish and all panels appear original. The glass, chromework and trim are all in excellent order, whilst the rubbers have retained their rich black colour. The original factory spot welds are present on the inner wings and the factory ‘body’ number is present on the slam panel. The vehicle chassis number is correctly stamped into the scuttle panel, and it is also etched into the front and rear screens. All panels appear flush and straight, including correct gaps in between the scuttle panel and tops of wings. The undercarriage is in impressive order having been rust protected throughout the years, whilst the correct body-colour vented sills are present both sides. All four alloy wheels appear ‘as new’ and are shod in new tyres. The cabin is in excellent condition and reflects the low mileage. There are no tears to the seats, carpet or headlining - in fact, the rear seats appear virtually unused! The original ‘Mini’-branded radio cassette is present and in fine working order. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is strong and pulls impeccably and gear synchros are all in good order without any crunches upon changes.

The Mini is sold newly serviced and MOT’d until 5th August 2025 and also benefits from a new Maniflow exhaust, heater matrix, front Hi-Los and knuckle joints, steering rack gaiters and tyres all round. Notably, the car has a very impressive MOT history record showing no corrosion issues, and it has passed every MOT since 2016 first-time and without any advisories. Supplied with the Mini are two sets of keys and a history file dating back to the point of first registration to include the original stamped service book.

A wonderfully original, unmolested example with impressively low miles.

From start to finish Phil was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and kind. I absolutely adore my new (but old!) Mini Cooper. She's a beauty! Would definitely recommend and if I'm in the market for a classic again, Phil Mires Classic Cars would be my first port of call.
