2000 classic rover mini cooper sport
We are delighted to present this stunning Mini Cooper Sport, originally supplied by Thomas Day Motors, Fleet on 30th June 2000. The Mini is finished in rare Anthracite with a Platinum Silver roof and body decals, over a contrasting black and Nickel silver leather-trimmed interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Specification highlights include 13” Sportspack alloy wheels, a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, a leather-bound steering wheel, alloy interior trim, chrome bezel gauges, and an engine-turned finish dash with magnolia-faced dials.
This example is a serial concours winner and has recorded just 31,742 miles from new - a mere 700 of those miles have been accrued in the last eight years. Originally family-owned, the Mini changed hands in September 2014 and has since been cherished by the same enthusiast for a decade, across two ownership periods. After initially selling the car in 2018, they quickly regretted the decision and repurchased it the following year. Under their attentive stewardship, the Mini thrived and claimed several concours trophies and awards, all of which now accompany the car. While it deeply saddened them to part with the Mini, they determined that the time had finally come due to lack of use.
In line with its wonderful history, this Mini is in fantastic condition. It has received meticulous maintenance and servicing every year by the owner’s husband - a retired mechanic - and it has been stored indoors under protective cover in a centrally heated, carpeted garage. Also, it boasts a near-perfect history record with the last twelve MOTs passed without any advisories.
Years of loving care and indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving this Mini. The paintwork has a deep lustre with even finish and the glass, chromework and trim are all in excellent order. Panels appear flush and straight, and body-colour vented sills are present both sides. The chassis number is correctly etched into the front and rear screens and the original supplying dealer sticker remains in situ on the rear screen. All four alloy wheels are shod with Yokohama A539 tyres. The cabin is in excellent condition and reflects the low mileage. There are no tears to the seats, carpet or headlining - in fact, the rear seats appear virtually unused! Elsewhere, the boot, engine bay and undercarriage are in commendable condition. The 1275cc multi-point injection engine is strong and pulls impeccably and gear synchros are all in good order without any crunches upon changes. The stainless steel exhaust produces a subtle yet satisfying raspy note that enhances the driving experience.
The Mini is sold freshly serviced and MOT’d until 17th July 2026 and is ready for immediate enjoyment. In addition to its concours awards, the Mini is supplied with two sets of keys, a Mini Register certificate and a highly comprehensive history file which includes the original bill of sale, stamped service book and pretty much every invoice since day one.
