The Mini owner’s guide to autumn classic car shows in Surrey
As the hectic summer classic car calendar draws to a close, you might feel like you have a whole year to wait for your next big event. Luckily, Surrey and the surrounding area still have some amazing events to offer. From our base in Weybridge, we have some of the most exciting, longest-running and largest classic car events in the country close by. Here we share our top picks for a great day out for classic car lovers in the autumn months.*
Our top three classic car shows in Surrey and beyond
Save the dates and book some super days out in September and October 2026.
The Concours of Elegance, Hampton Court Palace, Surrey
Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026 (Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 18:00, Sunday 10:00 to 17:30).
This isn’t a general classic car show. The Concours of Elegance brings together a hand-picked selection of over 60 of the rarest cars in the world, many never seen in the UK, displayed in the stunning Hampton Court Palace's Fountain Gardens.
The winner is chosen by exhibitors rather than a judging panel. Alongside the main Concours, the Club Trophy showcases entries from UK car clubs.
This is a more relaxed, social day out and more of a look-and-learn event rather than a show-your-own-car event. Its real value for a Mini enthusiast is the Club Trophy, where prestigious UK car clubs display their finest examples. You’ll get lots of ideas and inspiration about the presentation standards you might want to bring back to your own Classic Mini.
We love this rare opportunity to see genuinely world-class cars up close, in beautiful historic surroundings.
Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU. Nearest roads: M25 (exit 10 onto the A307, or exit 12 onto the A308), or the A3 via the A309. Parking is limited onsite, with overflow parking at Hampton Court 500 metres away.
Motorsport Day, Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey
Sunday 11 October 2026, 10:00 to 17:00.
This is a track day with Test Hill ascents, featuring competition cars ranging from GTs and touring cars to Group B rally cars. It’s run on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World circuit, alongside the Museum's own permanent collection of classic vehicles, racing cars, motorcycles, historic aircraft and Concorde.
Brooklands is the birthplace of British motorsport and has genuine historical relevance to any British marque, Mini included. Motorsport Day uses the same ticket as general Museum entry, though premium event pricing applies on the day. It's likely to be the least crowded, making it a good choice if you want a relaxed day rather than a big-ticket event.
We love Motorsport Day – it’s casual motorsport viewing, but less suited to those chasing the biggest names or the most prestigious cars.
Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0SL. Nearest roads: M25 (exits 10/11) and the A3, close to Weybridge. Free general parking.
Goodwood Revival, West Sussex
Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026.
Yes, this is a little further afield, but it is the world's best-known historic motor racing meeting, staged entirely in period dress, with an atmosphere spanning roughly 1948 to 1966. Expect wheel-to-wheel racing, historic aircraft flypasts, vintage fashion, the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation display, and a full retro high street of period shopping and entertainment. The 2026 theme is “La Dolce Vita”, with a focus on Italian style and motoring, and headline tributes to Barry Sheene and Sir Jack Brabham.
The Mini's competition pedigree, Monte Carlo Rally wins and all, sits squarely within the Revival's core era, and pre-1966 Minis and their contemporaries do appear both on and off the track. Beyond the racing itself, this is a great event for soaking up genuine period atmosphere, useful if your own restoration or presentation leans toward accuracy for a specific era. It's also an enormous social occasion; if you want to meet other classic owners and see how deep the enthusiast community runs, this is it.
We love it for the motorsport, period atmosphere, and full-day family fun. It’s a spectator event rather than a trade show. Be sure to book soon, as tickets go fast (Saturday has already sold out)!
Goodwood Motor Circuit, near Chichester, West Sussex. Nearest roads: A27 and A286, around four miles from Chichester. Parking is free for attendees.
Smaller local classic car events
If you fancy some shorter trips out, these three in September offer a low-key classic car fix.
Classic Car Show and Music, Music, Music, 6 September 2026, 11:00 to 16:30. A classic car show with music from The West End Jersey Boys. Classic car enthusiasts can bring cars to display. West Green House Gardens, Thackham's Lane, near Hartley Wintney, Hook, Hampshire RG27 8JB.
Classic Car Sunday, 6 September 2026, 13:30 to 16:30 (takes place the first Sunday of every month). A great way to see classics, supercars, hot rods, bikes, trucks or everything in between. Country Market, Kingsley, Bordon, Hampshire GU35 0QP.
Concorde Classic Car Show, 20 September 2026, 11:00 to 16:00. A charity event raising money for Naomi House and Jack’s Place children’s hospice. Described as a garden party for car enthusiasts. Eastleigh, Concorde Club, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh SO50 9HQ.
The tail end of the main outdoor show season brings together some stunning classic cars and owners who just want one last outing before it gets too chilly. You’ll hopefully benefit from great weather, without the sticky heat of summer. Plus, if you’re planning to show your own Classic Mini and want to photograph it for a club magazine, online listing or for your own album, the lower autumn sunlight is very flattering.
* Please note, we’ve done our best to check dates and travel information against official websites in August 2026. Different ticket packages are available. To be on the safe side, please follow the links to confirm directly with event organisers before setting off.
