Our Mini Cooper reunited with its first owner after 23 years!
1998 Rover Mini Cooper Sportspack in rare Nightfire Red with Cumulus leather interior
Having had to bide his time to acquire a Mini Cooper of this particular specification and colour combination, Keith ultimately purchased the car from Caffyns Rover in Brighton on 15th June 1998. He cherished the Mini, ensuring that it was finely maintained, and he regularly attended events such as the Riviera Run, London to Brighton, Mini in the Park and Silverstone 40th anniversary. After 30,000 miles and three enjoyable years of ownership, Keith very begrudgingly decided to sell the Mini in order to fund a deposit for his first house. He tried to track the whereabouts of the car ever since, but as it was residing in Wales on a private registration for many years, his attempts were to no avail. However, after twenty-three years of separation, we were able to reunite them both!
Since being sold by Keith in 2001, the Mini has only clocked up a further 26,000 miles and has spent recurring periods unused in storage. The car has been enthusiast-owned for the past two decades, and, up until circa 50,000 miles, it was predominantly serviced by John Cooper Garages in Worthing. Throughout the 2000's, the Mini was prolific on the show scene and many programmes and souvenir stickers have been retained. The condition of this Mini is amazing and it has clearly been meticulously preserved and maintained throughout its life.
